Last November I replaced my Fitbit Sense with the Amazfit GTR Mini, and I’m glad I did! I wanted a smartwatch that wasn’t bulky and huge and the GTR Mini fit my needs perfectly. This smartwatch works as advertised. The battery life is amazing. I’m getting a solid 8 days between charges and that’s when there is still about 28 percent left before charging! And that screen is bright and clear. The sensors and the apps function as they’re suppose to, from sleep to heart monitoring to workouts, all work fine. The Zepp app offers comprehensive data that is smart and understandable. I especially like the sleep app that somehow knows when I fall sleep or take a nap, true genius! The initial setup was not hard at all. After set up, it took me a few days to get to know my watch…and for my watch to know me! And when it comes to cost VS. value, the GTR mini truly excels. I’m very happy with my purchase.Update: It’s now 3 months since purchasing the Amazfit GTR Mini and everything still works great! I’ve never had reason to contact support. Mechanically, the watch itself is outstanding. And the apps, from steps to heart rate to blood oxygen to stress monitoring all perform as advertised. My old Fitbit Sense had real issues about disconnecting from bluetooth which was very annoying. Can’t remember how many times I had to perform Factory Resets. My GTR Mini is so much better in staying connected to bluetooth. And, if I do happen to leave my cellphone behind at home, the GTR Mini easily reconnects to my cellphone’s Bluetooth when I get back. BEST OF ALL: I’m still getting a solid 8 days between charges with the GTR Mini as opposed to the 4 days between charges with my old Fitbit Sense…and I still have about 28 to 29 percent battery left before charging. In closing, I would not hestitate in buying another Amazfit smartwatch. That’s my story (and I’m sticking to it)!UPDATE: 02/22/24Still haven’t had any issues with the watch, none whatsoever. The watch’s battery is now at 44% after 7 days of usage. I should add that I don’t fuss with the watch as much as I use to when it was new. So the time between charging is very much dependent on the owner’s fussing (with the watch) and the apps selected. Some apps use more battery, especially the apps that run all day. Furthermore, the watch’s bluetooth connection to my Android phone is far better than my old Fitbit Sense. And, when I don’t have my phone with me (which is most of the time) and the watch disconnects from the phone’s bluetooth, it always reconnects when I get back near my phone. As far as I can tell, it looks like the watch and phone stay connected for around 30 feet (dependent on what’s in between…walls, concrete, metal)BTW, I purchased a plastic and glass screen protector fits perfectly snug over the watch and is available on Amazon. This cover is OEM and the screen protector is excellent and completely eliminates any possible scratches on the watch’s screen and its case. And the screen protectors (2 in a box) are very inexpensive.Update: 5/4/24Watch is still working fine. The watch’s battery is still giving me 7 or 8 days between charges (I charge the watch when the battery falls below 30%). Charging time is about 2 hours. I really appreciate how thin and light weight the watch is. Seriously, sometimes I forget I am wearing it! The watch is running bluetooth 5.2 and remains connected to my Pixel phone as I walk throughout the house (I don’t carry my phone with me most of the time when I’m home).
Note: i also have a garmin forerunner over $250 which i love and also has hrv and readiness score using what they call body batterySo, how is this different or better? Better in these ways: The amazfit active has better stress and mental readiness scores, an app that includes more health information, and a ai bot that can encourage and answer questions in real time. In addition there is free breathing tools on the device, great gps, and phone connectivity. The Zepp app includes Aura aibot which has an add payable service to syncs music and sounds for meditation, sleep, and relaxing based on your heart rate. Very wow for insomniacs valuing life giving sleep. The cost is $40 per year unlimited. But limited is free and it is a bargain. And you get Amazon music and Alexa built in.There is a coaching service that i do not use because I’m in love with the bodbot app. Nice that all thise movements are recorded on my amazfit.Amazfit app syncs seamlessly with apple health for people in the i- universe. I have an iPhone and a Google pixel phone for their various strengths. But for fitness apple health rocks. Sorry Google, i know you are working on it.This is a high value low price device. It lacks one thing my garmin forerunner has- fall or accident detection with auto dial for help if you are unresponsive.A worthwhile high end features and faithful device with lots of watch faces and an app with lovely graphics and an aibot. I love it.PS i speak fluent Fitbit and Apple Watch. The lack of a good magnet charger and their much shorter battery life drop them from my best product list. Apple Watch is gold standard and very pricey. Fitbit support is allegedly to be dropped in 2025-26. Do your homework.
Pros:1. Sleep tracking is nice and more than I expected. It provides daily trends on sleep habits, including the time frames of REM, Deep Sleep and Light Sleep (all shown in separate parts in the same graph). Love this, and didn’t expect I would use it, but I do. It reminds me to go to bed based on a goal. Provides sleep grades compared to others and this goal. And it has been successful in helping me track my overall sleep health, and to develop better sleep habits. This was an unexpected perk for me.2. Setup of the watch and the Zepp app was so much more painless than the initial watch I purchased and its app. It synced up quickly and correctly. The app started reporting, and transferring over to the Apple Health app right away once I got it all set up. It did take some figuring out how to get the Apple Health synced up, but that was a complexity issue more on the Apple side.3. The battery life is really good. I typically only have to charge every 3-4 days. Am very happy with the battery life considering how much I use the watch.4. The watch provides a wide array of health stats including the already described Sleep, Stress, Heart Rate, Blood Oxygen, Steps, Activities, Exercise, Calories, distance, and provides a PAI score each day that took a little to understand, but I now find very useful to just “summarize” if I’m staying active and healthy each day. I especially love the blood oxygen reading which I track every hour because I suffer from asthma that is allergy and autoimmune-related. I can now track when I might need to pay closer attention and “take a puff” before it gets really bad. I don’t know how accurate this all is, but the readings make enough sense to be useful in tracking my overall systematic health, and I find that very useful overall.5. I know I have only “unlocked” and used half of this watch and Zepp watch’s abilities. There is also geolocation capacities, which I look forward to using on a hike or outdoor activities.6. I also like the tap button on the side, and the many possibly configurations you can set up to customize how you interact with the watch. It’s easy to push because it sticks out, unlike some other smartwatches that you have to push just right. I use my tap button for 1) short tap to access all the apps (and you can buy or download free apps – this is also nice), 2) long tap to wake my watch. I just love the flexibility in setting up the watch to fit your own needs and preferences.7. My texts and messages from iMessage on my iPhone and WhatsApp come through with no issues. I like getting those notifications on my watch and then going to my phone to read the message. The text is previewed on the watch, but any attachments, I have to go to my phone.8. I get reminders from my calendars (Google, Apple, Work) on the watch. I like that a lot.9. The weather app is standard in look and data. Nice to have.10. You can scroll down on each app and screen, and the watch drills down to a lot detailed information. Love this. The amount of details is great (even for the weather).11. Also have alarming options. I can set alarms on my watch for daily activities.12. I love the round watch face as opposed to the square or rectangular face. It’s aesthetically a beautiful watch.Cons:1. Pricier than other smartwatches, but cheaper than Apple and other high end watches. For the price, I think it has a lot. So not sure this is a con. It’s more than I wanted to spend. :)2. There is so much it took a few days to set it all up the way I finally wanted it, and some were not intuitive. I even have MORE to set up, just haven’t.3. I may have missed it, but they have a stopwatch. Would be nice to have a Timer.4. The watch will notify you of incoming calls and missed calls, but does not allow you to make calls, nor is there voicemail on the watch. I don’t miss this actually because I usually have my phone with me too. I get the notification on the phone, and I then know to call someone back or listened to voicemail of a missed call.Overall, I am very pleased with this watch. It does what is advertised. Other than a bit lengthy and complex set up, it’s primarily an activities, health tracking with some daily management watch. And I am finding that’s really all I need it for. My goal of developing healthier habits is helped significantly along with this watch.
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Amazfit GTR Mini Smart Watch, and I must say that I’m thoroughly impressed with its features and performance. First and foremost, the design of the watch is sleek and stylish, fitting comfortably on my wrist. It’s a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. One aspect that stood out to me was the wide range of health tracking features and reminders available on this watch. From monitoring my daily activities to providing insightful data on my sleep patterns, the watch excelled in helping me maintain a healthy lifestyle. The accuracy of the functions, including step counting and sleep tracking, seemed spot-on, giving me confidence in the data it provided. One of the standout features of the Amazfit GTR Mini is its exceptional battery life. Even with continuous use, the watch conserves power effectively, allowing me to go about my day without worrying about frequent charging. This is particularly useful during longer activities or trips where access to a charger may be limited.Although I haven’t tested the GPS functionality extensively, I believe it would be a valuable asset for outdoor enthusiasts. The inclusion of 5 satellite positioning systems promises reliable and accurate tracking, especially during runs or hikes. The overall user experience of the Amazfit GTR Mini is highly satisfactory. The accompanying app complements the watch seamlessly, offering detailed insights and customization options. The app’s interface is intuitive and user-friendly, enhancing the overall experience of using the watch.I was impressed by the accuracy of the SPO₂ and heart rate monitoring features. During my use, I didn’t notice any significant variations in my heart rate readings, indicating the reliability of the watch’s sensors. While I haven’t tested the water resistance personally, the watch’s 5 ATM rating ensures it can withstand immersion in water up to a certain depth, adding to its durability and versatility. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the Amazfit GTR Mini Smart Watch to anyone seeking a reliable and feature-rich device to monitor and improve their overall health. Its sleek design, impressive health tracking capabilities, long-lasting battery, and user-friendly experience make it a worthy companion for your fitness journey.
I had this watch for about a week and I am impressed how good it is, especially for this price. It preforms as good, if not better, as my Fitbit. I am a recreational runner and I have every future for runners on this watch. As regards GPS, it is accurate. It differs in measurement from Fitbit and Samsung watch by 1 meter only. Sleeping patterns are almost the same as on my Fitbit. The design is very nice for the ladies ( I have a pink one) — small, light and pretty. It takes 20mm watch band so one can find great variety online for replacement. The battery life is exceptionally long. I, definitely, would recommend this watch for recreational runners and hikers. The VO2max stats are exactly the same as on my Samsung watch.
I have only had this watch for a few days but I wanted to at least put on an initial review now because Amazfit is giving $100 gift card if you activate this watch by April 30th. The gift card is only usable to purchase from their store, in particular for watch faces, but it allowed me to download a lot of faces for free which was nice. In terms of the watch itself, so far I am very impressed. Having had a Fitbit Charge 6 and Versa 3, I have found this to be far more useful. The battery life so far has been amazing; light years ahead of the two Fitbits. The screen is very high resolution, and it is easy to use. I had also tried the Amazfit GTS3 watch, which was also impressive but didn’t have the ability to make and receive phone calls and had no sound, so I returned it and got the Active instead. I haven’t used the phone much yet, but I tested it and the sound quality is surprisingly good; really remarkable considering how small the speaker must be. I also wanted to correct an incorrect statement made by a reviewer in February, where they stated that there is no Alexa functionality. That is not correct. It does have Alexa built in, with sound, and it works very well and has been very handy. I will update this review after I have the watch a little longer, but as of now I am very pleased with it.UPDATE-6/20/24: I have been using this watch for almost 2 months now, and I continue to be very impressed with it. The battery life with my daily use has been incredible. On average it loses about 4-5% battery life a day, which has meant only having to charge it about every 3 weeks. I don’t know how they manage that, but it has been consistent for the 2 months I’ve been using it. I’ve used the phone connection several times and the sound on my end is very clear, and the people I’m talking to tell me that it is clear on their end as well. Using their app you can download every kind of watch face imaginable, so it is easy to customize it to what works for you. While this smartwatch may not have all the features of an Apple watch, unless you need those extra features I can without hesitation recommend this watch.
This is my third “smart” watch. I have spent a little more money on upgrades with each one. While I was looking for a more slimline (rectangle) shaped watch, they just didn’t have the functions that I wanted. This was a great compromise between the more expensive options I was looking at (mostly Samsung and FitBits). This seems to be pretty accurate as far as exercise and sleep tracking (this seems a bit inconsistent, but maybe it is user error). I like the respond function for messages (I am heading into my first year as a preschool teacher). Most of our families communicate through text messages, so it will be nice to have a quick reminder on my wrist rather than having to pull my phone out right away. I have only charged this twice in the two weeks I have owned this.I did end up buying a different set of elastic bands, simply because the silicone bands tend to trap water underneath and irritate my skin. I love that there are many free watch face options, especially for different seasons/holidays. I am sure there are features on here that I haven’t yet discovered, but I am happy with my purchase and would recommend to someone looking for a mid-range smart watch.
I am absolutely in love with my mini so far! I have had a fitbit tracker since 2013. I’ve gone through all iterations from the flex… to the charge and to the versa. When I went to shower about a month ago, I dropped my versa on the floor and it shattered the screen. I figured I’d give the amazfit line a try, as I’d seen them from time to time. I know these are considered “best for your budget” watches. I spent hours and days trying to decide on what would work best for my “aesthetic.” I love the minimal features of smart watches that are combined with fitness trackers, so the mini is what I went with.I haven’t had any syncing issues and all of the tracking values appear to be similar to my fitbit. One thing my previous watch struggled with was accurate heart rate tracking when I was exercising. So far, the mini has definitely felt more accurate! I love the watch faces and the screen is so clear and responsive. I am a maximalist and love to see all of the values of various measurements on the face! I can do everything I did on my old fitness watch at a lower price. I feel really good about the mini and see myself as a huge amazfit fan now! I’ll definitely update in about 6 months to a year. One feature that is new to me is the various apps you can use on the watch. I work in mental health and manage my own schedule, so the watch helps me keep on task!
I have had this watch for about 3 months, and it has been amazing! The performance is fantastic, and the AMOLED screen looks beautiful. The heart rate monitor works well, and the fitness tracker is simply amazing. The battery life, compared to the Apple and Samsung watches, is nowhere close to this one. Calls and quick replies work very well, and the speaker on it is just loud enough to hear indoors and outdoors. 5/5🌟
I love this smart watch. I like the classic look of the amazfit gtr mini. The fitness feature is great and the battery life is amazing. My use case for this watch is basic step tracking, heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking with all auto health tracking turned off and alway on display off. I also have bluetooth turn off. I use around 2 percent of battery life per day. I would recommend this watch for people who want a budget round smart watch.
